The update functionality ensures that all CROSSCAP Scan-Clients and CROSSCAP Multi-Clients in a CROSSCAP Enterprise system use up-to-date and matching application software.

In a CROSSCAP Enterprise system, CROSSCAP Scan-Clients and CROSSCAP Multi-Clients invariably obtain their software updates from a CROSSCAP Enterprise server. Since the network address of the CROSSCAP Enterprise server is already known (see Linking to CROSSCAP Enterprise), only the desired update period needs to be configured: 

Search for Updates

Determines the update frequency. The update process is a background task and will notify you as soon as updates are available.

The setting Every application start will not search for updates regularly, but when the client software is fired up.
